F.A.Q. - Joining KT Worship
as a volunteer
Dear friend,
Below
is some information to help you understand how to join the
KT Worship team and learn more about the recourses which
would be made available to you should you choose to join
us and have been successful thru our auditions.
Q: How can I join KT Worship as a volunteer?
A: There are 4 streams which form the KT
Worship teams and you can be part of one or more depending
on you abilities and talents. The 4 streams are:
- Musicians – email music@kt.org
for audition dates
- Soloists – email or music@kt.org
for audition dates
- Backing vocals (BVs)– email music@kt.org
for audition dates
- Choir – please keep an eye on the
ad section of our church magazine Revival Times where there'll
be audition details prior to a big KT event
Q: Are there any requirements to join KT Worship as a volunteer?
A: Yes. The requirements are:
- you need to be part of a G12 cell at KT and be actively
involved with the G12 vision of the church
- KT must be your main church, if you are part of one of
our satellite churches we would encourage you to stay with
it and help develop the worship team there together with
your local pastor
- There is a 3 months probation period during which you
would be expected to attend KT before you become part of
a worship team.
- you also need to be in regular contact with us at the
Music Department so that we can get to know you and your
character as a Christian. This is quite important to us
so don't be shy, come talk to us after the service and make
yourself familiar with the team.
- due to the fairly high standard of music at KT you will
need to have a reasonable understanding of music theory
especially if you are a musician
- you need to be able to commit to a monthly worship team
Rota (rotation schedule) which will be allocated to you
by the Music Department
- you need to be able to attend a music rehearsal on most
Thursdays at 7.45pm in KT Main building. Sometimes prior
to big KT events we run extra choir rehearsals on Mondays
at 7pm
Q:
Can I get music training from KT Worship?
A: There is limited training available to singers
and musicians who are almost at the right level of musicianship
to join KT Worship but need a little help to get there.
Please speak to a member of the Music Department for more
details. If you are a beginner we would recommend that you
attend a music course before you come to us.
Q: What resources do you have to help me learn
the songs at KT?
A: We will provide you with song lyrics and chord
charts (if you are a musician). Often when we introduce
new songs we will give you the songs on a tape or CD to
take home and help you learn them.
Q:
What church service can I get involved with? **
A: The main KT services in which you can participate
are:
- Sunday: 9am, 11am, 2.30pm, 5pm and 7pm
- Wednesday: 6.45pm
- Friday Net Meetings: 7pm
** Please note that these are normally allocated depending
on your availability to attend that service
Finally
Whilst we've aimed to answer most of the questions
you might ask it is possible that we've missed out on some
so if you need to know more please do not hesitate to contact
us by email: music@kt.org
or visit our contact page.
Every blessing,
KT Worship team!
